| Topic: | The Spring framework received a major upgrade with the 2.5 release including support for annotation-driven configuration.
Spring MVC has been around since the inception of the Spring framework. With the release of Spring 2.5, it also received a major upgrade providing support for its own style of annotation-driven configuration and a greatly simplified and easy to use form workflow. Spring Security, formerly known as ACEGI, has been around since the early days of Spring. It also received a major upgrade with the 2.0 release with support for its own Spring XML namespace and greatly simplified configuration. We'll start with a brief introduction to Spring Security and how you can use it to provide security for any Java web app. Next we'll talk about using annotation-driven configuration to drive auto-wiring of components in Spring itself. Finally, we'll talk about using Spring @MVC to simplify your Java web app development. |
