Building Rich Client Applications with Swing and Groovy

Date and Time: 01/22/2009 - 6:00 - 8:00
Location: 125 South Webster Street (GEF 3) Room 041
Speaker: Dave Klein
Topic: While many of us in the Java community have been working away on web applications, web services or other server side Java applications, the UI folks at Sun have been steadily improving the Swing libraries. Then along came Groovy's SwingBuilder and now Swing has become much easier to do. So, let's take another look at what we can do with Swing and Groovy. If time permits we will also take a look at a new framework inspired by Grails but for building desktop Java apps.
Notes: We will be giving away another license to IntelliJ IDEA courtesy of JetBrains and a free pass to the Greater Wisconsin Software Symposium
