Title: Sr. Apps Programmer Analyst/Technical Specialist

Description: GENERAL SUMMARY
Leads architectural responsibilities for the Web Development team for Java-based Websites and Portals. Works under general direction, submitting recommendations and escalating issues and concerns as needed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Focused on creating viable architectures that will both plan for the future and address critical business and technical needs.
  • Responsible for growing SOA efforts, as well as implementations of new content management and linux architectures.
  • Leads and participates in IS Architecture Team task-force efforts. Researches issues, produces proposals and recommendations, and works to achieve consensus. Presents proposals and recommendations to the IS Architecture Team and to the IS Leadership Team.
  • Researches and reports on new technologies, tools and solutions by developing prototypes and conducting feasibility studies to demonstrate design techniques.
  • Understands the overall business strategy and the IS organization to ensure technological directions are supportive and consistent with the company and its culture
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to IS development teams in institutionalizing industry best practices into application, data, infrastructure architecture, design, and programming activities.
  • Performs other duties as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred. Experience with Bea Weblogic, Bea Portal, Linux, and SOA preferred.
  • Consulting experience preferred.
  • Healthcare Experience preferred.
  • Substantial experience (usually 7+ years) in all phases of application software development/maintenance life cycles in a web-based environment.
  • Knowledge about software development alternatives among website development.
  • Strong skills required in leadership, critical thinking and analysis, verbal and written communications.
