Title: IS Systems Development Services Specialist

Description: The Department of Public Instruction, the Division for Libraries, Technology and Community Learning, is currently seeking an IS Systems Development Services Specialist. The position is located at 125 South Webster Street, Madison.

Job Duties:
This position is responsible for providing technical expertise regarding the analysis, development and maintenance of systems that capture, interrelate and report data for the Department of Public Instruction. This includes but is not limited to applications on the Internet such as the Wisconsin Student Locator System and the Individual Student Enrollment System. The person in this position is responsible for the ongoing coordination and review of the work of the system analysts and analyst/programmers whose work interfaces with assigned projects. Objectives, priorities and deadlines are established in consultation with the user, director and division leadership.

Special Notes: Part of the selection process may include a criminal background check.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of complex system analysis and design; complex relational database management systems; batch processing and job stream development; developing internet applications and data collection techniques; and programming languages such as Java, Oracle, PL/SQL. Effective oral and written communication skills.
